In vitro studies have investigated the biological activity and skin-related properties of recombinant Collagen III (Bloomcolla™ Col III).
① Cell adhesion and migration
In vitro studies showed increased adhesion and migration of skin-related cells following exposure to recombinant Collagen III.
② Anti-inflammatory activity in cell models
In vitro models showed reduced levels of inflammatory markers, including PGE2, TNF-α and IL-1β, following treatment with recombinant Collagen III.
③ Skin barrier and hydration-related functions
In vitro studies showed increased expression of genes associated with skin barrier function and moisture retention, including CLDN1, FLG, AQP3 and HAS2.
④ Skin tolerability
In a human closed patch test involving 30 participants, no skin reactions were observed at recombinant Collagen III concentrations ranging from 0.01% to 20%.
